For people who use Twitter and hashwork, all your tweets tagged "#work" get re-posted to your public feed on Hashwork.  So anyone who follows your hashwork feed will automatically get all of your work-related tweets.
Public following works just like internal following works  -- if you follow someone, you'll get immediate email and daily summaries about their updates.   You can customize notifications in Settings.
